Jac was than life figure with a warm and creative heart. Together with his friends in the Recreational Arts Team, he was a driving force behind the RAT parties of the 1980s and 1990s.

The RAT parties had a major impact on Sydney’s creative life, introducing thousands of people to alternative forms of live performance and breaking down social barriers.

In the late the RAT team joined with gay and lesbian community organisations to present the Pride Parties to raise funds for a community Pride Centre.

Jac’s creative vision helped to forge a gay-friendly dance scene in Sydney. He was also a great supporter of young entrepreneurs and creative artists. In 2009 the Powerhouse Museum recognised Jac’s and the Recreational Arts Team’s significant contribution the exhibition, The Eighties are Back.
