We both attended Toowoomba Grammar, and in 64, during the Brit music revival, we decided to form a band. Think Stones, Kinks, Animals, Sorrows, with Chuck Berry and Ray Charles . John became our front man/vocalist, and took to it like a fish to water, no nerves .. we were barely 17. We played regular Saturday nights at JBs. John was always enthusiastic, full of ideas, generous with his time, and obviously enjoyed himself.

Sadly his family moved to Brisbane in 65, and we lost touch. Three years later , a chance meeting at a Brisbane bus stop, a few minutes of conversation, and gone again.

This pic was taken on the morning of our first Saturday night gig .. youthful boys with the world to conquer, as we know John did, well.
